Trance film Vs Headhunters film

Trance (red Band Trailer), the new film from Danny Boyle looks very interesting. James McAvoy plays the lead in this dark thriller. I have not read to much about Trance, but would also like to bring to your attention a Scandinavian film of last year. Headhunters, a very good thriller. Not exactly the same as Trance, well both of them are after a painting, but worth checking out. Headhunters trailer. You will have to watch it with English subtitles, unless you understand Norwegian. ( I don't mind subtitles, as the good films suck you in regardless of the language.) It also has the Game of Thrones (Jamie Lannister) actor Nikolaj Coster Waldau playing a leading role.

Oblivion new trailer

The Oblivion new trailer gives you a little more insight into the films direction. Has the slight feel of Matrix about it, but then again.... it does look like it can hold its own. Check out the trailer here:

Today its Free Book Time 9th - 10th Feb 2013 'Europe has Fallen'.

In 1879 Europe will change forever. Something is rising in the east and it will consume everything in its path. Captain Charles Hayward could be our last hope.

A small fort in the Carpathian Mountains comes under a savage attack from a super-pack of wolves. It ends as quickly as it began, leaving many unanswered questions. The inhabitants of the fort use this window to escape, but find farms abandoned, villages empty and a strange silence. This changes at the Uzhok pass where they encounter something very different. Captain Hayward will now play his part in the cat and mouse retreat and where Europe will fight for her very survival.

He must help lead this band of civilians and Royal Engineers on an epic journey through a disintegrating Europe. Where every dark forest looks on menacingly, every sound treated with caution. They must follow the path home, but with something close to his heart nearby, choices will have to be made.

Sci-Fi movies are set to make 2013 very futuristic. Will Smith and his son battle against many different creatures in a bid to survive 'After Earth'. M Night Shyamalan has had some bad press with different films. I really liked Signs, with Mel, but there are a few howlers out there. See what you think of After Earth trailer:

Star Wars Standalone movies?

Well, I'm up for the new trilogy. With the next 3, they can take the films on from 'Return of the Jedi' and set it in the future from there. The idea of standalone films, well... it all depends on how good the script is. You do not want to cheapen the Star Wars legacy. I know Disney now has a cash cow on their hands, but it needs to be treated with care. Sadly money talks and when you've got something that generates millions, your going to milk it. The proof will be in the pudding to how good them make them.You can read a bit more here on Empireonline.

Oblivion trailer

Tom Cruise may not be everyone's cup of tea as an actor, but I gotta say that I enjoy most of his movies. This film looks futuristic with many twists and turns waiting to unfold. Matrix, maybe not, but there are some dark undertones. Oblivion is worth keeping an eye out for.
